YOU NEED ANNEKA!!! Being a first time mom, I was so nervous how breast feeding would go. We met before I had my baby to go over all of the basics, feeding schedules, hunger cues, breast pumps, bottles, and everything in between. It was great peace of mind going in to deliver. Anneka helped guide me in colostrum expression prior to delivery, which allowed us to syringe feed our baby this in the first hour of life since I was unable to. While in the hospital we were provided little to no help with breast feeding, nor could we meet with a lactation specialist due to staffing. I am forever grateful for Anneka who came over the day after we got home from the hospital and got our baby to latch and eat. She continued to work with me every week for the first 2 months and we made amazing growth and can successfully exclusively breast feed. Without Anneka, I would have given up and switched to formula. She helped me accomplish our goals and was always just a text away if I needed anything. Anneka was the reason I made it through the postpartum blues and I will forever be grateful for her knowledge and support!! We love her and recommend everyone who is pregnant to meet with her!!

Anneka has been so helpful in my breastfeeding journey. This is my second baby and I thought things were going pretty well until about 3-4 weeks in when my baby kept being very fussy at the breast and refusing to eat all together. Anneka has so much knowledge and was able to identify a tongue and lip tie which were contributing to her frustrations. Anneka helped me understand the issues we were dealing with and give me guidance on how to deal with breast refusal. Within a week we were seeing significant improvement. Being a second time mom I thought breastfeeding would come back naturally. I was mistaken! After two weeks of misery, feeling down about my milk production, and almost quitting because I was sore, my best friend suggested I look for a lactation consultant. I reached out to Anneka after my third baby was about 2 weeks old and I felt like I was a first time mom again dealing with all the breastfeeding frustrations. I figured It should come easily with my 3rd baby but felt as lost as ever dealing with a low supply and a colicky baby that didn't seem to like formula much. Anneka helped me come up with a plan to increase my supply, get correct pumping part sizes, and helped us to have a better latch. The home visit was a life saver, I can't imagine having to pack up and go somewhere so newly postpartum, and she followed up with texts and answered more questions as they came up. Shortly after, my baby was diagnosed with reflux and a dairy intolerance and it became obvious that formula was not going to be a good option as she couldn't tolerate most of them and felt the best on breast milk. I have been able to cut out formula and get back to just breastfeeding, I'm so thankful to have had all of her help, I don't think I could have been successful without it!

Our visit was so helpful for me during the first week of my newborn’s life! We were able to establish that baby was getting enough milk at the breast which helped to ease my anxiety, and we also practiced different positions and ways to get baby to latch.
